GILLIAM FARM

It was only a matter of time before the folks at Harding became acquainted with the Gilliams and their farm located just 10 miles west of Harding's campus in Searcy Arkansas. The Gilliam property was historically used for farming, but Glenn Gilliam also graciously allowed Harding students

and professors access to his land for academic and recreational use. In exchange for access to the property, Glenn Gilliam did not expect much more than friendship and an occasional gallon of milk in return, but this friendship between Glenn Gilliam and the folks from Harding blossomed into much more than that over the span of several decades. In fact, Glenn was so appreciative of the friendship and support he received from certain individuals, like Dr. Cliff Ganus at Harding, that in 1975 he decided to will the 670 acre farm to Harding University. We are extremely grateful for the generous contribution of Glenn Gilliam, and are proud to honor the Gilliam family name and the history of Gilliam farm in the name of the Gilliam Biological Research Station!
